About Us
The Broken Bar Ranch Story
At Broken Bar Ranch, we believe a good story starts with good people — and a little dirt under your boots. Our family has spent generations turning hard work into a way of life, and every sunrise here is another chapter added to that story.

Nestled in the heart of Marsh Valley, Idaho, Broken Bar Ranch is where hard work, family, and a good sense of humor keep things running. We’re proud to be family owned and operated, which basically means there’s no such thing as “sleeping in” for our kids — they’re our full-time pipe movers and cow kids!
From Pops all the way down to the youngest cowpoke, everyone has a job to do (and probably a story to tell about it). We raise Angus cattle, performance horses, and farm the land that’s been in our family for generations. Our days are filled with moving cows, fixing fences, and long summer hours in the tractor — and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Every member of the crew has a purpose: from the home-cooked meals that keep us going, to doctoring cows, and even the all-important gate opener (arguably the most underappreciated job on the ranch). Around here, teamwork isn’t just a motto — it’s a way of life.
We celebrate the legacy of family ranching, the value of hard work, and the blessing of living free in the greatest country on earth. We take pride in the beef we raise, the land we love, and the family that makes it all possible. And when the day’s work is finally done, there’s nothing better than gathering around the grill for a homegrown steak cooked just right — seasoned with gratitude, laughter, and a little bit of dust.
Welcome to our life. Welcome to Broken Bar Ranch.
